Cambodia Gambling Halls
Thursday, 5. November 2026
There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den gambling is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are established in a generally tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect destination, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are for all intents and purposes required to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of many borders.
The first Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 one armed bandits and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel building that features many conveniences aside from the gambling den, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and 88 tables.
